Easter Sunday is supposed to be a big celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ within the Catholic religion, i’m not the most religious person in the world, but Easter means a lot more to me than just celebrating Jesus.
Within the Catholic religion, Jesus Christ, the son of God, come and saved us from sin. We have holiday devoted to worshipping him, Christmas for his birthday, Easter for the resurrection of him. These holidays are a way of coming together with those you love and celebrating someone who we believe saved us.
Now, i’m not the most religious person in the world, I haven’t been to church since I got confirmed, I don’t know how many years ago. I haven’t prayed in who knows how long, and I am not someone who is sin free. Im not the best devoted Catholic, but I am someone who focuses on being a good person each and everyday.
Religion is becoming more and more obsolete as the generations progress, many people question it and don’t have a desire to surrender themselves to a lifetime of praying, missing out on the beautiful things this world has to offer.
To me, Easter is a way to come together as a family, to spend time with those you love and those who are important to you. I love the time I get to spend with them, the laughs, the memories and especially the good food.
Thats what Easter is to me, not worshipping someone i’ve never met, but enjoying and spending time with those who I love and hold dear to my heart.
